The Defenders was a team of heroes first brought together by circumstance. The initial membership included Dr. Strange, the Hulk, Namor the Submariner, and the Silver Surfer. It all started when Dr. Strange gathered the Hulk, Namor, and the Silver Surfer to stop Yandroth‘s evil machine.
