Stryfe was a madman bent on the domination of mutants over humans. His tactics included the bombing of various government facilities to the conspiracy to the poisoning of entire cities. Early on, the MLF consisted of many members that mostly came into conflict with Cable and the X-Force, as well as a brush with Val Cooper‘s X-Factor.
