Villains
Commander
Professor Charles Xavier – also known as Professor X. Mutant, telepath, founder of the X-Men team and a private school for young mutants. A character from Marvel comics who appears in their live-action and animated adaptations and video games.
The character’s creators are Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Lee was inspired by Martin Luther King, whom he then pitted against his Malcolm X counterpart, Magneto. Unlike Magneto, Xavier believes in the peaceful coexistence of humans (homo sapiens) and mutants (homo superior), which is why he founded the Xavier Institute, where he teaches young mutants to use their skills. Xavier is most often portrayed as confined to a wheelchair, though in the comics he has regained the use of his legs many times. He is a powerful telepath, as well as an expert in genetics and the designer of Cerebro, a machine that multiplies his powers and allows him to search for more mutants. Xavier also establishes the X-Men, a team that openly defies the threats to mutants. Its ranks include Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, Rogue, Shadowcat and Colossus. Their biggest opponents are Magneto, Juggernaut, Sentinels, and Apocalypse.
